Specializing in the production of aluminum parts for the automobile sector using a number of different processes, the automobile equipment supplier in the Loire (France), Anderton Castings, is currently looking for a buyer. The court-appointed receiver, the offices of AJUP (Mr. Eric-Etienne Martin), has launched a call for tenders, with the deadline for filing offers set at Monday September 16, 2024.
Based in Andrézieux-Bouthéon in the Loire (42160), 45 minutes from Lyon, the French subsidiary of a group based in the United States, Andertons Castings is an automobile equipment supplier specializing in the production of aluminum parts for the automobile sector, and more specifically in the production of safety parts.
It uses a number of different manufacturing processes: gravity molding, low pressure, forge processes, machining on 4- or 5-axis machines, assembling components such as pressed ball-joints, integrated ball-joints, metal inserts, silent blocs.
The company works with its clients (located mainly in Europe and the United States) at all stages of their project: from design if the client so wishes through to production, and acceptance testing (radiography, pressure tests, impermeability tests, cleanliness…).
For this it has tailored premises: it owns buildings offering more than 5,000m² of floor space on a site covering 37,000 m², and a comprehensive range of high-performance industrial equipment, namely:
- Gravity tilt turntables,
- 3 low pressure PCPC castings,
- 2 decoring stations,
- 1700 and 1100-ton forging presses,
- Automated finish lines,
- Automated sawing stations,
- 3 Bosello ADR X-ray inspection cells,
- 2 heat treat tunnels,
- 4 aging furnaces,
- 4 trimming presses,
- A metallurgy lab,
- Assembly line and assembly press,
- 5 and 4-axis CNC machine; and
- 1 FPI line.
A teaser with a more detailed presentation of its products and production equipment is available here.
It counts 89 employees and in 2023 achieved turnover of 24M€ (compared to 9.4M€ in 2022). Despite this strong growth and a number of development opportunities, Anderton Castings has been forced to apply to go into receivership, pursuant notably to a major planned production shutdown and difficulties faced by one of its clients which has resulted in said client being unable to meet its orders.
This is the context in which Anderton Castings is now looking for a buyer. It is supported in this process by its clients, who have maintained and, in some cases, increased their orders.
A great takeover opportunity in the Auvergne Rhône Alpes region to perpetuate this precious industrial know-how.
